1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the BoxArbor mobile application (the “App”) is intended to handle information when used with compatible BoxArbor display products. The App is provided by BoxArbor International Limited (“BoxArbor,” “we,” or “us”). It covers the App, not every interaction with our website or other services.
2. Information accessed when you use the App
The App is designed to work without creating a user account. Its primary function is to discover, pair with, and control nearby compatible BoxArbor devices over Bluetooth.
- Bluetooth discovery and device control may involve locally accessing nearby device names, hardware or device identifiers, signal information, connection status, and device capabilities.
- App settings may include display names, device layout or grouping information, and user-selected controls such as light color, brightness, and effects. Such information may be processed locally to provide the functions you select.
- The exact set of locally stored data and whether diagnostic or crash information is collected must be confirmed against the final iOS and Android builds.
3. Why this information is used
Bluetooth-related data and control settings are used to discover nearby compatible devices, establish and maintain a connection, show device status, and carry out instructions that you choose in the App. They are not intended to be used for behavioral advertising.
4. Bluetooth and operating-system permissions
The App may request Bluetooth access and, on certain Android versions, nearby-device or location-related permissions required by the operating system for Bluetooth discovery. The requested permissions depend on the platform and OS version. The App is not intended to use GPS location to track your movements.
- You may manage granted permissions through your phone’s system settings. Denying required Bluetooth permissions may prevent device discovery or control.
- Permission labels alone do not establish whether location or other data is collected; the final App implementation and operating-system permissions must be verified before publication.
5. Data sharing, third parties, and network transmission
The currently planned App architecture does not require a BoxArbor cloud account and is intended to operate through a direct Bluetooth connection between your phone and compatible BoxArbor hardware. No advertising, analytics, or other third-party SDKs are currently planned.
- Before the App is released, BoxArbor must verify that no SDK, crash reporter, telemetry, backend API, remote service, or other component transmits information outside the device. Any such activity and recipient must be disclosed in the final policy.
6. Storage, security, and retention
Settings and device details may be retained locally on your phone as needed for device control and personalization. The intended design is not to maintain a remote user profile. Bluetooth traffic is exchanged with compatible BoxArbor hardware to carry out your commands.
- Actual storage locations, retention periods, security safeguards, and the process for deleting local data must be tested on the final App. Uninstalling the App may remove its local data, subject to the operating system’s behavior and any device-side settings that remain.
7. Your choices and requests
You can stop using the App and revoke Bluetooth or other permissions in your device settings. For questions about data relating to the App, including any requests to access, correct, or delete information that BoxArbor might hold, you may contact BoxArbor using the privacy contact information that will be published below.
8. Children
The App is designed as a companion controller for collectible display products and is not intended to be directed to children. Any children’s privacy requirements applicable to the final audience and product must be assessed before launch.
9. International use and changes
The App may be distributed in multiple countries. If our processing practices change, we will revise this policy, update the “Last reviewed” date, and disclose material changes as required by applicable law.
